Slowly but steadily, the pieces of the puzzle are coming together for the new generation Hyundai Verna. This time around, we’ve got leaked images of the Korea-spec compact sedan, called the Accent there, which gives it a hint at what the sedan could look like when it launches in India on March 21.

Design

Hyundai has extensively worked to change the design of the new generation Hyundai Verna, which takes cues from products sold in global markets like the new Elantra and Sonata.

The parametric grille design takes up most of the real estate at the front, and on top of it is the connected LED DRL setup that spans the rather sleek nose of the compact sedan. The headlights are integrated below the DRLs, flanking the parametric grille.

The design is fairly clean, yet striking in profile. The latter is down to its coupe-like silhouette and the rear half, which sports a striking crease that works its way to the rear boot lip. Just below it is a connected LED tailight setup, which makes a sort of H-shaped motif, giving it a sharp look. In contrast, the rear bumper design is rather simple and neat, but you can expect a few revisions for the India-spec compact sedan.

There’s a whole lotta dope that has surfaced ahead of the compact sedan’s launch including its variant list, powertrain details, and a few feature additions, details of which can be found here.

You can put down your name for the new Verna as bookings are open ahead of its launch on March 21. Expect the prices for it to creep upwards in comparison to the prices of the ongoing model, which starts from Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). It'll rival the Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and the upcoming 2023 facelifted Honda City.
