The bikes have been recalled due to issues with the wheel speed sensor and camshafts

Quick News Highlights:

- Honda has recalled its 300-350cc bikes due to two separate issues in them

- The first issue is about the wheel sensor

- The second one is about faulty camshafts

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced a voluntary recall campaign for its 300-350cc motorcycles for two different issues. The bikes in question are the Honda CB300F, CB300R, CB350, H’ness CB350 and CB350RS.

The first issue is about the wheel speed sensor in all the five bikes mentioned above. Due to an improper moulding procedure followed during sensor manufacturing, water could seep into the wheel speed sensor. This may cause it to malfunction which in turn can cause problems with the speedometer, traction control, ABS intervention or the brake pressure. Units of the CB300F, CB300R, CB350, H’ness CB350 and CB350RS manufactured between October 2020 and April 2024 are affected by this.

The other issue is about a fault with the camshaft in the Honda CB350, H’ness CB350 and the CB350RS. Honda says that an improper manufacturing process followed during the camshafts’ production process could prevent the bikes from functioning in an optimal manner. The units manufactured between June and July 2024 are affected by this issue.

The affected parts will be replaced free of cost at Honda BigWing dealerships across India. The free replacement is not dependent on the current warranty status of the bikes. Honda says that owners of the affected vehicles will be notified via call, SMS or e-mail to bring their bikes to the dealerships for inspection. Customers can also submit their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the BigWing website to check if their bike falls under this recall campaign.

In other Honda news, since the start of July 2024, the Honda CB200X and the Hornet 2.0 are being sold through the BigWing dealership network across the country. Honda BigWing is the manufacturer’s premium dealership network and with the addition of the CB200X and the Hornet 2.0 to the dealership’s lineup, it is confirmed that Honda’s 200cc offerings are now being considered as premium bikes. This should increase the overall footfall of the BigWing dealerships. Also, Honda has discontinued the X-Blade and the model has also been removed from the manufacturer’s website.
