Tata recently took the wraps off the Altroz facelift, which gets enhanced styling and a more premium interior than the outgoing model. In Tata’s hatchback lineup, the Altroz sits above the Tiago, which is their entry-level hatchback. The Altroz is positioned as a premium hatchback and offers a bunch of extra convenience and safety features over the Tiago.
So, if you are in the market looking for a hatchback or if you are wondering if you should stretch your budget and opt for the Altroz, then you have come to the right place!
Here are the 8 features that the Altroz offers over its smaller sibling:
In terms of the displays, both Altroz and Tiago get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but the Altroz gets a larger 10.25-inch digital driver display, which also has an inbuilt navigation feature - something that we have already seen on the Nexon and Curvv.

Do you really need a wireless phone charger? Yes and no! Yes, because it makes the lower centre console look neater and no, because your phone charges quicker using a wired charger. So it is not something that’s a big miss, but rather a nice premium touch.
Now that’s a feature which truly elevates the cabin experience. The Altroz gets a single-pane sunroof with voice assistance, while the Tiago misses out on this crowd-favourite feature. Furthermore, it is not even a feature that you can install from aftermarket options. Well, even if you could, you should avoid it for your own good.
The Altroz comes with a neatly integrated strip of ambient lighting, which honestly makes the cabin experience a whole lot better. It sets the mood right, especially if you often travel during the night. This is a feature that can be installed from aftermarket options, so it's not a big miss, but you would have to invest at least Rs 10,000 if you want to do it right.

With the AQI levels in our country soaring as high as rent in Mumbai, an air purifier becomes a crucial feature to have. Tata offers this feature with the Altroz but not with the Tiago. So if you want to buy the Tiago over the Altroz, your wallet might be happy, but your lungs might not be.
A set of features that keep you more connected with your car. You get more data about your car, available on your smartphone. This helps in understanding the usage of your car better, and also can be used to control certain functions of your car. Overall, a useful addition!
The Altroz comes installed with a 360-degree camera, while the Tiago only gets a regular reverse parking camera. A 360-degree camera would help you if you park in tight spaces, and it also aids in getting the exact judgment of all four corners of the car in traffic conditions.

Safety is more important than anything else, and having 6 airbags in your car provides peace of mind like no other safety feature. The Tiago is one of the few hatchbacks that misses out on this, and only comes with dual front airbags. The Altroz comes equipped with 6 airbags right from the base-spec variant.

Prices for the Altroz are expected to start from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago currently ranges between Rs 5.00 lakh and Rs 8.45 lakh. Yes, the Tiago is obviously going to be much lighter on your pocket, but the Altroz gives you many reasons to opt for it over the Tiago. The extra features not just take the convenience factor to a whole new level, but also enhance the safety quotient, which should be given utmost priority.
Would you pick the Altroz for its extra features? Let us know in the comments section.
