All-new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line All Set to Launch Tomorrow: Top 5 Things To Expect

The Tiguan has long been Volkswagen’s contender in the mid-size SUV space, attracting both brand loyalists and buyers upgrading to the segment. However, the lack of updates in recent years saw it lose traction amongst SUV shoppers. That’s about to change, as the new-gen Tiguan is set to make its India debut tomorrow, that too arriving in the sporty R-Line form. Ahead of its launch tomorrow, here’s everything to look forward to from the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line.

New-gen SUV in a Sporty Look

The Tiguan last received an update in 2023, which brought minor cosmetic tweaks and feature additions. Now, Volkswagen is set to introduce the new generation of the SUV, featuring a refined styling and a completely overhauled interior packed with new features. The R-Line variant adds sporty enhancements to this updated design, both inside and out. Speaking of which, let’s take a look at the Tiguan R-Line’s exterior and interior in the next section.

Tiguan R-Line Exterior and Interior Highlights

Overall, the Tiguan R-Line gets plenty of blacked-out elements on the exterior, enhancing its sporty appeal. Up front, it features sleek LED DRLs with a light bar running across the width of the fascia. The blacked-out bumper adds a muscular look, while the ‘R’ badging on the front doors further sets it apart from its predecessor. 

The Tiguan R-Line rides on sharper-looking 19-inch alloy wheels that complement the blacked-out wheel arches and overall silhouette. At the rear, it sports connected LED tail lights, while chrome elements on the bumper add a contrasting touch to the otherwise aggressive styling.

Inside, as expected, there’s an all-black cabin theme that complements the Tiguan R-Line’s character. The overall cabin follows a minimalist theme, while silver accents throughout add a premium touch. The front row gets sport seats with extra bolstering for added comfort, and the ‘R’ badging on the headrests further sets it apart.

As for features, the Tiguan R-Line comes equipped with a 15-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a three-zone climate control system, massage function for the front-row seats, 30-colour ambient lighting, wireless phone  charging, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety features include, 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, all four disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS.

Tiguan R-Line Engine Specs

Globally, the new-gen Tiguan is offered with multiple engine options, but in India, Volkswagen will offer the R-Line with the 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 204 PS and 320 Nm. It will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and coupled with an all-wheel-drive setup.

Expected Pricing 

We expect the pricing of the VW Tiguan R-Line to start from Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will take on the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Meridian, Citroen C5 Aircross, and the upcoming 2025 Skoda Kodiaq.
