Mahindra has temporarily halted bookings of the Alturas G4’s entry-level two-wheel drive variant, citing supply chain issues. The Alturas G4 can be bought only in its 4X4 guise at the moment, which is priced at Rs 31.88 lakh (ex-showroom), three lakh more than the two-wheel drive variant.
Commenting on the temporary halt of bookings, a spokesperson from Mahindra said, “Owing to global supply chain disruptions, we have temporarily ceased bookings for the 2WD variant of the Alturas.”

The two wheel drive variant of the Alturas G4 is its entry-level trim. That being said, it still comes well equipped with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and cruise control.
Top-spec 4X4 variants come with additional niceties like memory settings for the driver’s seat, a sunroof, and a 360-degree camera.

The Alturas G4 gets a 181PS 2.2-litre diesel engine, teamed with a Mercedes-Benz-sourced 7-speed automatic transmission. The two-wheel drive variant delivers power to its rear wheels.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 locks horns with full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster as well as monocoque SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. Mahindra’s flagship model is still considerably more affordable than its rivals.
