The EV6 facelift has plenty of strengths, but there are a few things that make the buying decision a little less straightforward and simple!

Before diving into the pros and cons of the 2025 Kia EV6, let’s first understand what it is. The 2025 EV6 facelift was recently launched in India at Rs 65.9 lakh (ex-showroom). In recent times, plenty of premium and luxury EV SUVs have been introduced, and some of the key players include the BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the BMW iX1 LWB. The EV6 is Kia’s premium EV to take on the abovementioned rivals, and it offers a well-rounded package which makes it very desirable, but it's not the perfect EV and has some cons too.

So in this report, we take you through the strengths and weaknesses of the EV6 facelift in detail, but before that, let’s have a quick look at what all has changed with the 2025 update:

Kia EV6 Facelift: Updates

Kia EV6 Facelift: Positive And Negatives

Here’s a look at what’s good and what’s not so good with the EV6 facelift:

PROS

CONS

  • Looks premium and quirky, it will grab attention on the road

  • Comes with a large 84 kWh battery pack, boasting a 663 km (MIDC-ARAI) range. One can expect a real-world range of more than 500 km

  • Quick charging times: Takes just 18 minutes to go from 0 to 80 percent using a 350 kW DC Charger

  • Loaded with features - Vehicle-To-Load (V2L), twin 12.3-inch integrated displays, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS

  • Offers a comprehensive safety package - 8 airbags, ABS, EBD, TCS, along with the level 2 ADAS, which has features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and more!

  • Amongst the quickest in its segment - Goes from 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 5.3 seconds

  • It is offered with a single-pane sunroof, while rivals offer fixed or operational panoramic sunroof

  • Not the most comfortable over long distances, the raised floor design creates a seating position where both front and rear occupants experience a ‘knees-up’ posture

  • More expensive than its rivals - Around Rs 15-20 lakh pricier than the BYD Sealion 7, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and BMW iX1 LWB

  • The cabin, while well-equipped, does not quite exude the same level of luxury and refinement found in German rivals within the same price bracket

  • Does not offer the brand value that you would get from Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and BMW EVs in the same price bracket

So, Who Should Buy The Kia EV6?

The EV6 should be bought by someone who wants a good-looking premium EV which will stand out on the road. It will also prove to be spacious enough for families of up to 5 members, while ensuring that they travel in utmost safety.

Moreover, the impressive claimed range offers peace of mind, and the quick performance will keep the enthusiast inside you satisfied. However, if you are someone who wants the proper SUV stance and more road presence, then the EV6 might not be for you. Additionally, it also does not give the luxury tag and the brand name which the German rival EVs would offer.

Rivals

The 2025 Kia EV6 facelift retails at Rs 65.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of the Volvo C40 Recharge, BMW i4 and is a more expensive alternative to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW iX1 LWB and BYD Sealion 7.
