The carmaker is also expected to showcase its advances in non-car-related fields

Korean carmaker Hyundai has a smorgasbord of new models coming in 2023, some of which we’ll get to see at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. Since the last Expo, Hyundai has made leaps in future technologies and diversified into other forms of transportation than cars which we also expect to see at this year’s show.

Here are all the expected and confirmed Hyundai models coming to Auto Expo 2023:

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV

The Ioniq 5 has already been unveiled in India and its order books are open. Hyundai is likely to officially launch its flagship EV for India at the Expo. Its prices are expected to start at around Rs 50 lakh. The Ioniq 5 is a 217PS, quirky looking EV with an ARAI-tested range of 631km (480km WLTP) and gets an array of practical features, creature comforts and driver-assistance technologies.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Electric Sedan

Overseas, the E-GMP platform that underpins the Ioniq 5 has spawned multiple other Kia and Hyundai electric models. The Ioniq 6 is one such EV, a classy premium electric sedan with a coupe roofline, sharp body lines and a rounded overall design. It gets the same battery and drivetrain options (RWD or AWD) as the Ioniq 5 overseas, and the good news is it could be showcased at the Auto Expo 2023.

The Nexo is Hyundai’s sole fuel-cell offering in overseas markets. Essentially, it’s an electric SUV with a hydrogen-powered fuel cell for generating electricity. The technology is still in its nascent stages even in global markets, but an ongoing pilot study is looking into the potential of FCEVs in India. Yes, the Nexo was showcased at last year’s expo and is expected to be present this year as well.

Robotics technologies

Hyundai is looking at a future of software-defined vehicles, flying cars, autonomous taxis and advanced robotics. We should get a glimpse at this future at Hyundai’s pavilion at the Expo, and we could also see other non-car-related innovations such as the VEX robotic exoskeleton, Spot, the Boston Dynamics robot and DAL-e AI service robot.

Other cars that could be showcased

Hyundai is known to keep things exciting, and its Expo showcase could include heart-stoppers such as the i20 N and N Vision 74 concept. In addition, we’d also love to see its global flagship SUV, the Palisade, on display.

The Hyundai pavilion at Auto Expo 2023 should be as exciting as ever. Given the sheer strides the carmaker has made over the last two years, this year’s Expo exhibition will be something to watch out for.
