When Hyundai launched the Creta Electric, it introduced an electric counterpart to its feature-packed compact SUV. Similarly, the BYD Atto 3 offers a well-equipped cabin but comes at a slight price premium. Recently, it received model-year updates, yet it still misses out on nine features that are available in the Creta Electric. Let's take a look at them.
The Creta Electric comes with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, whereas the Atto 3 gets a smaller 5-inch unit. A larger digital display not only enhances aesthetics but also improves visibility, provides more information, and allows better customization of settings. It becomes especially useful when using navigation, offering turn-by-turn directions with improved readability, eliminating the need to rely on the infotainment system.
Both the Atto 3 and the Creta Electric come equipped with a 360-degree camera system, but the one in the Creta Electric performs slightly better as it projects a side view of your vehicle whenever you signal to turn right or left. This feature is particularly useful when changing lanes, providing an instant view of any vehicle in your blind spot. Notably, like the Creta Electric, the Atto 3 also features blind spot detection, which provides a visual cue on the ORVM to help prevent potential collisions.
Both electric SUVs also come equipped with electrically adjustable front-row seats. However, the Creta Electric’s top variant offers 8-way adjustment for both the driver and front passenger, while the Atto 3 provides 6-way adjustment for the driver and 4-way adjustment for the front passenger. Additionally, the Creta Electric’s powered driver seat features a memory function that saves adjustments and restores them with a tap of a button.
The Creta Electric also features a powered adjustable passenger walk-in function, allowing the rear passenger to electronically adjust the front passenger seat for extra legroom. This feature is typically found in premium cars and is especially useful when being chauffeured.
Over the Atto 3, the Creta Electric also features sunshades for rear-seat passengers. These help minimize sun glare and keep the interior cooler, making them especially useful in the country's hot summers while providing additional comfort. However, both electric SUVs come with an automatic climate control system that adjusts the cabin temperature for a pleasant experience.
While both the Atto 3 and Creta Electric feature automatic climate control, the latter also gets a dual-zone AC. It enhances comfort by allowing occupants to set different temperature preferences and adds a premium touch.
The Creta Electric features paddle shifters to adjust battery regeneration levels. Although not a major addition, they add convenience by allowing on-the-go adjustments. That said, the Atto 3 also comes with regenerative braking, converting energy back into electricity to recharge the battery while driving.
Along with 433 litres of boot space, the Creta Electric also offers 22 litres of front storage, making it useful for small bags, groceries, and charging cables. However, the Atto 3 provides a slightly larger 440-litre boot. Both electric SUVs also feature a 60:40 split-folding rear seat for added practicality.
Last but not least, connected car technology which among the two is exclusive to the Creta Electric. Hyundai claims its Bluelink system offers over 70 features, including remote engine start/stop, vehicle location tracking, and remote climate control adjustments.
