The Sealion 7 is clearly superior in the specifications department. It offers a larger battery pack, and much more power output irrespective of the version you choose. It also has an all-wheel drive system. The greater power output also results in a quicker 0-100 kmph time. The Sealion 7’s Premium variant (RWD) offers the highest claimed range in this comparison.
If you aren’t someone who has just skipped to the verdict, you would have understood by now which SUV is the clear winner here. Yes, the Sealion 7 dominates the EX40 in almost every aspect. It has a greater road presence, offers a larger battery pack, is quicker and also has a greater claimed range. However, what the EX40 offers is intangible.
The Swedish automaker has a reputation of its own and stands out even among the world’s top car manufacturers. Owning a Volvo car brings a sense of sophistication in itself, and they are also considered as one of the safest cars in the world.
So, if you just look at the specifications, then the Sealion 7 wins by a fair margin. However, if you are able to look beyond the numbers, then the EX40 could also start making sense!
