BYD is all set to extend its EV lineup in India with the launch of the Sealion 7 tomorrow on February 17. The Sealion 7 is a more sophisticated and larger SUV alternative to the Seal sedan, which has a more sportier appeal to it. The Sealion 7 comes with a striking design, a premium interior with plentiful features and capable powertrains! It will be offered in two variants: Premium And Performance.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at all the details of the Sealion 7:
The BYD Sealion 7 shares some styling elements with the Seal, but still has its own personality and aura. It comes with sleek LED DRLs, low-slung bonnet, and a closed-off grille. The bumper has a sporty design to it with plenty of sharp lines and creases.
The Sealion 7 is a long SUV and measures over 4.8 metres in length. Its roofline starts sloping from the B-pillar onwards and gives it a SUV-coupe like look. It sports 20-inch alloy wheels and gets some chrome inserts as well for contrast. For a premium feel, you get flush door handles.
The rear end features slim connected LED tail lamps positioned above the BYD emblem. Furthermore, you also get a lip spoiler and a rugged skid plate.
It can be had in four exterior colour options: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Gray, Aurora White and Shark Gray. To take a closer look at the Sealion 7 colours in real-life images, head over to this story.
The interior gets plenty of premium materials used all over the cabin. It gets the signature rotating touchscreen display mounted on a black glass panel that also houses the digital driver’s display. It comes with a chunky four-spoke steering wheel which features plenty of controls, and the driver also gets an AR heads-up display which provides you with necessary information and warnings as well. Streaks of ambient lighting further add to the appeal of the cabin.
The top features include a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display, multi-colour ambient lighting, 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, connected car tech, NFC-based car key, ventilated and powered front seats, and dual-zone climate control.
Safety is taken care of by a 360-degree camera, 11 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing wipers, electronic parking brake with auto hold and level-2 ADAS.
The BYD Sealion 7 gets both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive powertrain options, both paired with the same battery pack. Here’s a closer look at the specifications:
