BYD has pulled the wraps off the 2025 BYD Seal, bringing a host of upgrades to its premium electric sedan. With improved ride comfort and minor changes in the cabin, the updated Seal tries to stand out in India’s growing EV segment. Let’s dive into the details.
On the outside, the 2025 BYD Seal remains largely unchanged.

It still looks cool, it still looks futuristic and totally retains its sleek and aerodynamic fastback silhouette. BYD has followed the formula: “Why change if it ain’t broken?”
The 2025 BYD Seal gets a new power sunshade, an upgraded air-conditioning system with a larger compressor, and an air purifier, promising a more refined and comfortable cabin experience.

A new silver-plated dimming canopy has been introduced, enhancing the car’s premium appeal and optimising cabin lighting conditions.

The infotainment system now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and additionally, BYD has added a new sound wave function, which creates analog sound, which basically improves the acoustic ambience inside the cabin.

BYD has decided to upgrade the Seal in the ride and handling department.
Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD) are now available on the Premium variant as well. These dampers adjust suspension stiffness based on road conditions.

BYD’s DiSus-C intelligent damping system debuts on the Performance variant, which constantly adapts the suspension to ensure a smooth ride. Whether tackling potholes or pushing hard through corners, the Seal now dampens the suspension for better stability and control.
The powertrain remains unchanged for the 2025 BYD Seal.

It continues to use BYD’s Blade Battery Tech and is offered with:
A single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant for efficiency-focused buyers.
A dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant for those who crave performance.
Bookings for the 2025 BYD Seal are open from March 11, 2025, at a token amount of Rs 1.25 lakh. Official pricing will be announced in April 2025, we expect it to be costlier by a margin of Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 considering the equipment upgrades.
The BYD Seal continues to take on its SUV sibling - the BYD Sealion 7 as well as established EVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the BMW iX1 LWB and the Kia EV6.
With better ride quality, minor tech improvements, and feel-good features, the 2025 BYD Seal looks more well-packaged and ready to compete in India’s premium EV space.
The big question still remains: Will it be your next electric upgrade? Let us know in the comments!
