Q. Which is better bike Kawasaki ZX10R or Yamaha R1?
  • The YZF-R1 is powered by a 998cc, in-line four, liquid cooled engine which makes 200PS power. The ECU is programmed with five different types of control systems, including traction control, slide control, launch control and quick shifter. It has undergone a number of changes to keep itself updated in the highly competitive world of superbikes. But with rivals upping the ante, the R1 seems a little bit left out yet it remains one of the most highly desired superbikes in the country due its handling prowess and performance. Whereas, Powering the motorcycle is the same 998cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine capable of producing 200PS of power at 13,000rpm and 113.5Nm of torque at 11,500rpm. It comes equipped with a twin spar cast aluminium frame, 43mm USD front forks and a rear monoshock. Kawasaki dropped a bomb by announcing the prices of the 2018 ZX-10R and ZX-10RR. Thanks to local assembly, the Japanese manufacturer has been able to price the ZX-10R at a tempting Rs 12.80 lakh. This makes the ZX-10R the most affordable litre-class superbike in the country. With the massive price drop, the Kawasaki ZX-10R easily undercuts its chief rival, the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, by a huge margin. The ZX-10R was already a capable superbike, the pricing has just made it even sweeter! Ultimately, it boils down to your requirement. Do take a test ride in order to clear all your doubts.

Q. Is it suitable for 5.4ft person - YZF R1?
  • I am 5’5” and have had an R1M for over a year. I cannot tippy toe both feet at once, but if you can shift your bum as you stop and use the rear brake for starting and stopping it is not a major issue. If I slide to one side I can place my left foot flat on the ground (right on rear brake). I’d suggest you are very comfortable with the above before buying one.
  • At the seat height of 855mm, it would be difficult for you to ride Yamaha R1 bike. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride of the bike which would help you to clarify your doubts about the bikes riding comfort.Click here for the dealership: https://www.zigwheels.com/bikes/dealers/Yamaha

Superbikes are not meant to be used daily. But i have clogged over 40k km in the beast. Since it is over 10 years now, i can see some degradation. But the built quality is beyond perfection. My bike looks fresher than a 2 year old modern bikes...
