Today, if you want a V4 engine on a motorcycle, your bank better have Ducati money, which is a lot. However Benda has found a way to democratise a luxury of the few. Introducing the Benda Darkflag, a 500cc V4 cruiser. Mind equals blown.

The Darkflag looks like a thoroughbred cruiser, and to quote one of our Youtube subscribers, “If Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycles have a honeymoon in China .... Benda happens”. Jokes apart, this is one good looking motorcycle and while the 496cc V4 engine may make roughly only 54PS and 42Nm, this motorcycle has some cool tricks up its sleeve.

For instance, it gets air suspension, something you normally see on high-end vehicles. With a weight of 231kg (dry) and a wheelbase of 1575mm, this motorcycle is best enjoyed on the highway. However, the air suspension, along with USDs up front, should give it more adaptability on our roads. Flick a switch and the bike can be raised from 120mm to 170mm ground clearance. Very cool!

In terms of features, yet again the Benda has covered the basics - LED lighting, a bunch of electronics, riding modes etc. However the instrumentation is a basic yet well finished semi-digital monopod which looks good on the cruiser theme. Expected price - under Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom), and the bike could be launched in the second half of 2023.
