- All three bikes are good in their own forte. Honda Hornet 2.0 is a very likeable motorcycle with great handling dynamics and a frugal engine. The presence of bits such as the USD fork and LED lighting gives it that premium feel but the lack of engine excitement does put a damper on spirits. The new motorcycle gets an LED headlamp and tail lamp. The bike’s negative LCD display shows the real-time mileage apart from the regular trove of information. Another new feature in the BS6 model is the side-stand engine cutoff function. The FZ25 BS6’s premium variant, the FZS 25, gets knuckle guards, a longer windscreen, alloy wheels in the gold finish, and more premium colour options. Hornet 2.0 [2020-2024] Key Highlights
Price: The Honda Hornet 2.0 comes at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 1,39,450. The bike is offered in 4 colours: Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Sangria Red Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black.
Design: There is an air of familiarity in the design of the Hornet 2.0. It looks quite similar to its predecessor: the CB Hornet 160R. The sharp tank extensions, edgy body panels, and the chunky gold USD fork keep up the sporty trait that one associates with the Hornet name. You get a small belly pan too that protects the chunky cat-con. The exhaust is short and stubby with a blacked-out muffler cover. The Hornet 2.0 arrives in four colours: grey, blue, red and black. There is also a Repsol edition, replete with the colours of Honda's factory MotThere is an air of familiarity in the design of the Hornet 2.0. You get a small belly pan too that protects the chunky cat-con. The exhaust is short and stubby with a blacked-out muffler cover. The Hornet 2.0 arrives in four colours with new snazzy graphics: Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
Features: Honda comes with an all-LED lighting. The aggressive toothed face is reminiscent of the older 160cc Hornet but it looks better on the new bike with those fat gold USDs. A blue backlit LCD digital cluster displays odometer, trip, gear position indicator, speedometer, bar-type tachometer, a clock and a fuel gauge. Sadly, there’s no range or distance-to-empty feature. Honda kitting the Hornet 2.0 with an engine kill switch was obvious but you also get a hazard toggle switch on the naked.
Engine: The 2023 Honda Hornet 2.0 is powered by a 184cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 17.27PS at 8,500rpm and 15.9Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is paired with a five-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. Suspension duties are taken care of by an upside-down (USD) fork and a preload adjustable monoshock affixed to a box-section swingarm. Braking duties are handled by a 276mm front and 220mm rear petal disc brake.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The bike is built on a diamond frame and is suspended on an inverted fork and monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends with 110-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres.
Rivals: Honda has positioned the Hornet 2.0 between the 160cc and 200cc bikes in India. Hence, the TVS Apache RTR 180 2V is its only primary rival. In terms of pricing, it’s at par with the larger Pulsar NS 200 and Apache RTR 200 4V.
