2021 Suzuki Hayabusa | The Review | Is this the True Busa?

2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is a legend. Now in its third generation this motorcycle, the reputation of which has been built on speed, is facing a very different world to when it first debuted some twenty years ago. The Hayabusa’s status is cemented by its 1340cc engine which has been revamped to meet Euro 5 emission norms. This has resulted in lower power, lower fuel efficiency and higher fuel consumption. The Busa isn’t much lighter either. So, on paper, the 3rd generation Busa feels disappointingly familiar. It does pack in a lot more electronics to keep up with modern day motorcycles and as a result it is a lot more expensive too costing Rs 16.5 Lakh ex-showroom now. Sadly, it’s greatest rival - the Kawasaki ZX14 is no longer on sale in India. But, that doesn’t change the expectations from the Suzuki Hayabusa, they are sky high. Right at the point where the peregrine falcon would dive down for its prey, hitting 300kmph on the way down. So, does the new Busa take its legacy and soar higher? Is it a true Busa?
