Q. Which variant is better 4x4 MT or 4x4 AT, and why - Fortuner?
- Get the automatic it you have a lot of city run.It comes with pedal shifters too so you can change gears accordingly.But if there's not much of city runs in bumper to bumper traffic for you you can opt for the manual.Also if you are chauffeur driven then you can opt for the manual.One thing to be noted here that although fortuner is such a heavy vehicle,you would be surprised to see that the clutch action is so light and the gears are slick.Which is amazing for a car of this size so the 6 speed manual gearbox is brilliant and it is 2-2.5 lacs cheaper than the automatic 4×4.it also comes with an IMT(intelligent manual transmission) which happens to bring the engine speed and vehicle speed at a same speed in order to give you smooth shifts
- 4X4 MT is better because in AT it feels bored while driving such a powerful beast without changing gears by your hands. MT model is also good and is helpful in the off-road driving and make it easy.
- MT is better because less fuel and better for mountain raod and easy to start during weak battary manual is strong than AT but AT is less effort but high fuel consume and faster than MT
Q. What should I choose between petrol and diesel - Fortuner?
- Thanks for the very informative information. I am planning to get a Toyota fortuner just for a leisure ride as my retirement gifts for self. Your kind advice is highly appreciated. I only drive less than 30km a day. Btw May I get your opinion. Should I buy a second hand (3-4 years) one or a brand new one. Thanks
- Diesel engine always require long running atleast 3000-4000 km per month otherwise the engine performance and car life decrease. And petrol engine don't require these thing. Mileage of diesel is around 8-14 kmpl and petrol is 7-12kmpl
- If you want more features like sunroof n new information systems, different designs and more powerful engine than go with the new Toyota fortuner otherwise you can go for 3-4 years old second hand Fortuner.
Q. Toyota Fortuner petrol or diesel is better. If the car is not frequently not used l.
- Petrol variant has more pick-up than diesel.But the resale value of petrol is very low.Diesel has better resale value. Diesel variant has less engine noise and mileage also increases
- It dosent matter it is used or not but what is your use does matter so if using only in city then petrol or for long rides diesel is best and for offroad deiesel for more torqe.
- Petrol version pickup high than diesel but market value diesel
