Ever since its inception back in 1986, the Delhi Auto Expo has grown bigger and better with every edition. From being a platform for technology transfer for indigenous automotive companies, to becoming a showcase of the best in mobility and technology, Auto Expo has come a long way.

And now, the 14th edition of the biennial auto show is finally here! Hosted at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida from February 9th to 14th, this year’s Auto Expo will have over 40 exhibitors unveiling more than 100 vehicles and launching 24 products. Aside from new upcoming cars, bikes, scooters, concepts, etc, this year’s show will also have several zones that will showcase the new technologies and innovations in the automotive world.

Here’s a ready reckoner if you are planning to make the trip to the Expo.

Nearest Metro Station:

In terms of convenience, the Noida Botanical Garden station on the Blue line is your best bet. Here you'll find shuttles services and buses for hire that will take you from the station to the venue directly. The distance between the two is 27km, which should take you about half an hour.

Nearest Airport:

From Indira Gandhi International Airport, you can hail a cab to the venue. It is located at a distance of 48km, which should take you around 50 minutes. If you are landing at T3 terminal, you can also take the Airport Line Metro to Shivaji Stadium metro station; from there take a short walk to the Rajiv Chowk metro station for the Blue Line to Botanical Gardens - a 15km, 40 minute ride.

Cab Services:

If you’re traveling within the city, you could also take a cab or carpool service that will drop you right at the entry gate. However, if you're planning to drive your own car, the walk from the parking lot to the venue will be long.

How big is the venue?

It’s massive. The India Expo Mart is spread over 58 acres of land, covering 65,000 sqm of built-up area. It houses 14 exhibition halls, convention facilities, lounges, restaurants and of course, food courts. You’ll be able to enter the venue from any of the six entry gates.

Can I drive there? Are there any parking arrangements?

As aforementioned, If you're travelling within the city, it is highly advisable to hire a cab or use local transport to arrive at the venue. The expo venue is a car-free zone so, bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, etc will not be allowed on the premises. There is a parking space available, but it is quite a walk from the venue and may require you to take a shuttle to the site.

What are the ticket prices?

The price of tickets during general public hours is Rs 350 while for business hours it is Rs 750. Children upto the age of five and wheelchair bound attendees along with the person assisting them are exempted from buying a ticket.

Can I enter the venue multiple times? What happens if I lose my ticket?

No, you cannot enter the venue multiple times. The ticket or pass will be considered authentic only if it has an untampered barcode. There will be no refund or replacement for a lost ticket. So don’t let it out of your sight! Also, organisers hold the right to deny entry to any attendee even if they have a valid ticket.

What time does the show start?

You can enter the venue at 10 am. However, entry will be denied post 5 pm and the Expo Mart will need to be vacated by 6 pm. Entry into the exhibition halls will close 30 minutes prior to the closing time of the Expo.

How strict are the security measures? Can I carry any luggage?

Just like every prominent venue, attendees will be frisked at checkpoints for any dangerous possessions. These include firearms, knives/blades, sharp objects, lighters, matchboxes, toy weapons, inflammable materials, laser pointers, glass/plastic containers, bombs, cans and bottles. You can carry luggage inside. However, it will be put through an X-ray scanner at the security booth and checked thoroughly.

Are there any food stalls? Can I bring any outside food?

There are multiple food stalls at the venue. Outside food and beverage is strictly not allowed inside the premises.
