Volvo's flagship SUV has been given a mid-life update and is expected to be launched in India by mid-2019. Changes, in terms of cosmetics, are limited. The addition of KERS tech has apparently made the already efficient SUV 15 per cent more efficient in the real world, says Volvo. The Volvo XC90 has a lot of presence, even though it is not your typical big, burly, and bullish SUV. It is priced from Rs 80.90 lakh to Rs 1.32 crore, ex-showroom India. Noteworthy exterior features include Volvo-signature Thor's-Hammer all-LED headlamps, an imposing grille, large alloy wheels, uncluttered profile, and sculpted rear with the signature waterfall taillamps. Under the Hood, the XC90 is available with two engine options, both centred around a 2.0-litre motor. The T8 'Twin Engine' variant adds an electric motor to the mix and a plug-in hybrid battery pack. In the Indian market, Volvo XC90 has got the likes of the Range Rover Velar, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Range Rover Sport in its crosshairs.
