5 Things You Need To Know About The 2025 Volvo XC90 Ahead Of Its Launch Tomorrow

The XC90 has been Volvo's signature offering since its launch, and while its elegant design remained timeless, it was due for a refresh. Last year, the Swedish carmaker unveiled the facelifted XC90 globally, featuring a thoroughly updated look inside out. These changes not only help it stand strong against its German rivals but also enhance its overall appeal. 

Volvo is now set to launch the 2025 XC90 facelift in India tomorrow, and here’s everything you need to know ahead of its debut.

2025 XC90 Facelift Design

The updated XC90 stays true to its design philosophy with refined yet impactful changes. The front grille gets a fresh pattern, lending a more modern touch, while the signature Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs adopt a sleeker design. 

From the side profile, you would not notice any significant changes from its predecessor, but the 2025 XC90 gets redesigned alloy wheels that not only enhance the SUV’s stance but also contribute to improved performance. At the rear, the iconic vertical taillights receive slight refinements to add to the facelifted XC 90's appearance.

2025 XC90 Facelift Interior

The facelifted XC90 boasts an interior that radiates minimalism and comfort, featuring upgraded materials, advanced technology, and enhanced practicality. It also offers updated upholstery and trim options, incorporating more sustainable and premium materials to align with Volvo’s eco-friendly philosophy. 

These updates are expected to be available on the India-spec XC90 as well. Other amenities, such as an advanced air purification system, could also make their way through.

2025 XC90 Facelift Features

The 2025 XC90 facelift is expected to come equipped with an upgraded 11.2-inch infotainment system that runs on Google-based software. On the safety front, it is expected to offer updated Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, a 360-degree camera setup, hill start and hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, park assist system, and an electronic parking brake.

2025 XC90 Facelift Powertrain Specifications

Globally, the 2025 XC90 is offered with two powertrain options: a 250 PS and 360 Nm produced from a 2-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine and a more powerful 455 PS and 709 Nm produced by a 2-litre plug-in hybrid turbo-petrol engine. Both options are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and come equipped with an all-wheel-drive system. 

Which of these powertrains will be available on the India-spec 2025 XC90 is yet to be confirmed, but we expect it to continue with the former mild-hybrid option.

2025 XC90 Facelift Price and Rivals

Prices for the 2025 XC90 is expected to start from Rs 1.05 crore (ex-showroom). Upon launch, the facelifted XC90 will lock horns with the Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Lexus RX, and the BMW X5.

While the refresh is as mild as its mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine, we hope to see that Volvo takes the Indian market a bit aggressively and gets us better and updated products.
