Nissan Qashqai

Nissan showcased the Qashqai premium midsize SUV with the intention of a possible launch after putting it through testing in the country. If it makes it to our shores, the SUV will likely be brought in via the completely built-up CBU route with a price tag that will put it in contention with other premium offerings like Volkswagen Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Hyundai Tucson. Internationally, it gets multiple powertrain options, including front-wheel and all-wheel drivetrain options.

Features: The Nissan Qashqai’s features list includes a 12.3-inch infotainment and digital driver’s screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the forner. It also features a 10.8-inch head-up display, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats with massaging function, a panoramic glass roof, and a powered tailgate. Safety of the occupants is ensured by multiple airbags, ISOFIX child anchorages, electronic stability control and an extensive list of ADAS technology including lane departure prevention, blind spot monitoring, and forward collision warning.

Engine: The Nissan Qashqai is sold with two powertrain options in the UK market: a 1.3-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol producing 140PS and 158PS, and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol unit producing a combined 190PS. The former can be paired to either a six-speed manual or a CVT transmission, while the strong-hybrid powertrain gets a sole automatic unit. Power is delivered to the front wheels as standard, but an all-wheel drivetrain can be had with the 158PS mild-hybrid trim.

Rivals: It will fend off competition from the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Jeep Compass.
