UM Motorcycles Set To Unveil Electric Cruiser At Auto Expo 2018

UM Motorcycles has just announced that it will be unveiling an electric cruiser at the Auto Expo 2018. The model was first unveiled at the 2017 EICMA Show in Milan last year. Although the company hasn’t revealed much information about the product yet, we know for sure that it is a geared motorcycle that will get liquid cooling.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Mishra, CEO, UM  Lohia Two Wheelers, said: “We are very excited to be a part of the Auto Expo 2018 and are confident that the visitors will be thrilled by the UM range of Motorcycles showcased at our stand. We will also be unveiling the world’s first electric geared high-speed cruiser and a newly designed 230cc cruiser which will showcase the prowess of UM Motorcycles at the Auto Expo. We are expecting a healthy footfall as we have some great surprises for the visitors which they can only experience at the stand.” 

Along with the electric cruiser, the company is also set to showcase a new mass segment cruiser. This cruiser will be powered by a 230cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and is expected to churn out 20-22PS of power and 18-20Nm of torque. The 5-speed transmission offered will transfer all this power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. We are expecting the styling of this cruiser to be similar to the existing UM range of cruisers. It is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 1.25 to 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched it will take on the likes of the Bajaj Avenger 220, which has also received an update for 2018.

Apart from this the company will also showcase its upcoming and existing range of motorcycles, which includes the Renegade Commando Classic, Renegade Commando Mojave, Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sports S.
