The last seven days saw a car launch and several pre-launch announcements

 

The past week continued to be busy for the auto industry with another car launch in India followed by numerous pre-launch announcements. Here's more on what went down:

Renault Duster Turbo India Launch

 

After making its debut back in February at Auto Expo 2020, Renault has launched the Duster Turbo at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh. It gets a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that spiritually succeeds the 1.5-litre diesel variants sold during the BS6 era. It develops 156PS of power and 254Nm of torque. 2020 Mahindra Thar Preview

 

Mahindra’s recently unveiled next-generation Thar is not only larger than before, but also a lot more mainstream with a lot of kit on offer including an optional automatic transmission and a petrol engine. It will be offered in three variants AX, AX Option and LX with a launch planned for October 2. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2020 Thar. 

Kia Sonet Bookings Open; Brochure Leaked

As we head closer to Sonet’s September launch, more information has been coming in on the upcoming sub-4m SUV. Now a leaked brochure reveals the Sonet will be offered in a total of six variants within the Tech Line and GT Line trims. Bookings have also officially commenced. Toyota Urban Cruiser Bookings Open; Brochure Leaked

 

Another model that has had its brochure leaked and is set to launch in September is Toyota’s upcoming Urban Cruiser. Based on the Maruti Vitara Brezza, the Urban Cruiser will feature slightly different cosmetics, but share the majority of the equipment as well as the 1.5-litre petrol engine. Next-gen Kia Carnival International Debut

 

Kia Motors has taken the wraps off the next iteration of the Carnival MPV in international markets. It now gets more of an SUV design, despite being longer than before.  It is offered with three engines and a Mercedes-like cabin.
