The Tata Hexa is the successor to the Aria, which, according to Tata, was India's first crossover SUV. While the prices of the SUV are yet to be announced, Tata dealerships are now accepting bookings for their new offering. The official booking amount is Rs 11,000, though some dealers are reportedly asking for Rs 20,000-25,000.
When launched, the SUV will be available in 6 variants – XE, XM, XMA, XT, XTA and XT 4x4. The prices of the base variant are likely to start at around the Rs 12 lakh mark while the range-topping variant could go up to Rs 17-18 lakh.

On the outside, the SUV gets some cool elements such as the smoked-out projector headlamps, daytime running lamps, 19-inch alloy wheels and the LED tail lamps. While on the inside, it gets features such as a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment interface, a 10-speaker sound system by JBL, 6 airbags, faux leather upholstery and automatic climate control.
Mechanically, the Hexa will be available with only one engine, the same 2.2-litre ‘Varicor400’ turbodiesel engine used in the top-end variant of the Safari Storme. The oil burner is capable of producing 156PS of power and 400Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the base variant of the same engine will be available in a lower state of tune that will produce 150PS of power and 320Nm of torque.

The engine will be mated to a variety of transmission options. The base XE variant will be coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox comes as standard with the XM and XT grades. The top-end XT version is also available with an optional 4x4. On the other hand, buyers can also go for a 6-speed automatic transmission, offered with the XMA and XTA variants.
