Jaguar F-Pace Bookings Could Start Next Week

We had recently reported about Jaguar launching its first SUV, the F-Pace, in India in October. Now, with the launch approaching, it has come to our knowledge that bookings for the all-new F-Pace will commence from next week. The booking amount for the same is expected to hover around the Rs 5 lakh mark. The F-Pace will be the first offering by the Indo-Brit carmaker in the SUV segment and will compete against the likes of the Range Rover Evoque, BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe in the Indian market. As per our sources, the F-Pace could be launched at a base price of around Rs 85-90 lakh, going up to almost Rs 1.2 crore for the top-spec variant.

The Jaguar F-Pace has been built on the aluminium intensive platform that underpins the new XE. The stiff body structure mostly comprises of 80 per cent aluminium. Additional weight savings are courtesy of composite tailgate and magnesium used in the cross-car beam located behind the dashboard. In the looks department, the F-Pace definitely has an appealing design and has received a positive response in the international markets. The SUV adorns the signature Jaguar grille flanked by sleek headlights with L-shaped Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs). The smooth flowing lines follow throughout the length of the vehicle and ends with the LED tail lamps at the rear. The SUV will be offered with alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inch, depending on the variant selected.

Under the hood, the Jaguar F-Pace will only feature diesel engines. While the official website mentions the SUV to feature the 2.0-litre diesel mill, a more powerful six-cylinder 3.0-litre V6 engine is also likely to be on offer. Speaking of the engines, the 2.0-litre diesel motor will offer 180PS of power and 430Nm of max torque while the 3.0-litre variant will churn out 300PS of power and an enormous peak torque of 700Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by an eight-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive.  

Feature wise, the Jaguar F-Pace SUV will be equipped with several features such as head-up display, park assist, cruise control, Jaguar Drive Control, gesture tailgate, two-zone climate control, All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) and Dynamics Stability Control (DSC), to name a few.
