The German auto major, Porsche, is expected to start deliveries of the least expensive variant of its Macan SUV, the Macan R4, by the end of the second week of November 2016. Porsche dealerships are entertaining bookings for the SUV with an amount of Rs 10 lakh.
Expected to be priced around Rs 76 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the Macan R4 will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-pot turbo-petrol motor, which will be tuned to produce 252PS of power and 370Nm of torque. The power will be sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch auto box. Porsche claim that the Macan R will hit 100kmph from standstill in 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 229kmph.

Apart from the ‘R4’ variant, the Macan in India is offered in three other avatars. There’s a Macan S diesel variant, which is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-pot diesel motor. It is tuned to pump out 245PS of power and 580Nm of torque. Next in line is the Macan Turbo which boasts a 3.6-litre, 6-pot petrol mill. The engine is setup to produce 400PS of power and 550Nm of torque. The top-of-the-range model available in India is the Macan Turbo with Performance Package, which makes do with the same engine that does duty under the hood of the Macan Turbo, but is tuned to churn out 440PS of power and 600Nm of torque.
While the prices of the ‘S’ diesel and the Macan Turbo are listed at Rs 1.06 crore and Rs 1.18 crore respectively, the Macan Turbo with Performance Package stands as the most expensive variant in India, with a list-price of Rs 1.4 crore (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai).
