Porsche Brings Macan Turbo With Performance Package To India For Rs 1.4 Crore

Porsche is known the world over for one thing -- its sports cars (the 911, the Cayman and the Boxster). However, of late, it is also known it has also become known? for making fast, sporty SUVs, like the Macan. Speaking of Macan specifically, it is one the best SUVs in terms of driving dynamics. However, deciding not to rest on its laurels, Porsche has now equipped it with the Performance Package. The Performance Package-equipped Macan Turbo now sits at the top of the model line.

What does the Macan Turbo get when equipped with the Performance Package? A 40PS bump in power to 440PS from its 3.6-litre V6 twin-turbo engine as compared to the Macan Turbo. Torque increase is in the tune of 50Nm (to 600Nm) and is available between 1,500-4,500rpm. As a result, it dashes from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds and goes on to deliver a top whack of 272km/h.

The brakes are new on the top-of-the-line Macan Turbo and its body has been lowered. It has also been equipped with sports-controlled chassis, Sport Chrono Package and sports exhaust system as standard. The front brake discs are grooved and measure 390mm in diameter and get six-piston callipers coloured red. In comparison, the Macan Turbo without Performance Package gets 360mm discs. The Porsche Active Suspension Management system lowers the car by 15mm at the push of a button. Also available as standard is air suspension, which has been lowered by 10mm, with self-levelling function and height adjustment.

There are more packages on offer to customise the Performance Package-equipped Macan Turbo. One of them is the Turbo Exterior Package which includes 21-inch wheels and LED headlamps equipped with PDLS Plus, finished in black. Then there is the Turbo Interior Package that drapes the interiors in black leather with Alcantara touches, colour appliqué and carbon elements, with the model logo lit in white. The Macan Turbo with Performance Package is now available for order at a price of Rs 14,058,000 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
