  • The Hector was facelifted in January, 2021.

  • It got subtle cosmetic updates and new connected car features.

  • There has been no change to the powertrains.

  • The facelifted Hector ranges from Rs 13.17 lakh to Rs 18.85 lakh.

Currently, the MG Hector features connected car tech and smartphone connectivity. The SUV was one of the first to offer Hinglish voice commands in India. Now, MG has added one more to the list -- Apple Watch connectivity for climate control.

Thanks to this, you can use your Apple smartwatch to remotely set your car’s temperature. This feature can also be accessed via IOS and Android phone applications.

On January 7 this year, the facelifted Hector was launched with a few cosmetic updates, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and a wireless phone charger. Other connectivity-focused additions included an engine-start alarm, an in-car voice alert for critical tyre pressure, the i-SMART app on Apple Watch, voice search on the Gaana app, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Accuweather weather forecast.

However, the SUV saw no change to its powertrains and still utilises the 170PS 2.0-litre diesel and 143PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The latter also gets a 48V mild-hybrid option. In addition to the standard 6-speed manual transmission, the petrol-powered SUV gets an optional dual-clutch automatic and CVT.

The Hector is priced between Rs 13.17 lakh and Rs 18.85 lakh (ex-showroom) and locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, and Mahindra XUV500.
