Next-Generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio Spied Testing

Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS6-compliant version of the Celerio at Rs 4.41 lakh. The hatchback now attracts a premium of Rs 15,000 across all variants. It uses the same 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 68PS and 90Nm of torque.

Maruti is offering the updated BS6 Celerio in a total of 10 variants. Here’s a table with the updated prices:

Under the hood is the same K10b 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 68PS and 90Nm. Power is sent to the front wheel with the help of a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The CNG variants of the Celerio are still on sale in BS4 guise. It is available in two variants: VXI and VXI (O). There are no cosmetic changes or feature additions to the hatchback.

With this update, the Celerio becomes the 10th model to join the line of BS6-compliant offerings from Maruti Suzuki. The carmaker rolled out its first BS6 model in April 2019 and has since sold over 5 lakh BS6 models including the Alto, Eeco, S-Presso, Swift Celerio, WagonR, Baleno, Dzire, Ertiga and the XL6. All these models contribute to 75 per cent of Maruti Suzuki’s petrol sales.

The Celerio is now priced from Rs 4.41 lakh for the LXI variant to Rs 5.58 lakh for the ZXI AMT (O). The BS4 CNG variants are priced at Rs 5.29 lakh (VXI CNG) and Rs 5.38 lakh (VXI CNG (O)).
