  • Kia Carnival’s Premium 8-seater and Prestige 9-seater variants discontinued.

  • Production of Premium 7-seater and Prestige 6-seater also reduced.

  • However, the base and top pricing remains unaffected at Rs 24.95 lakh and Rs 33.99 lakh respectively.

Kia has axed the Carnival’s base-spec Premium 8-seater and the mid-spec Prestige 9-seater variants. While they are still showing on the carmaker’s website, we believe they’ll be taken down once sold out. Besides, the carmaker has also said it will reduce the production of the base-spec Premium 7-seater and mid-spec Prestige 6-seater variants. While the exact reason is not yet announced, we believe it's due to poor demand.

Here is the Carnival’s variant lineup:

Premium 8-Seater

This rejig aside, Kia continues to offer the Carnival with a loaded features list. On the mechanics front, the MUV continues to be propelled by a sole 200PS/440Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine. It comes specced with an 8-speed automatic, and a front-wheel drivetrain.

With no changes on the base and top pricing, the Kia Carnival continues to be priced from Rs 24.95 lakh to Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). While it doesn’t have any direct rival in India, it is an affordable alternative to the Toyota Vellfire and the Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
