  • The next-gen Kia Carnival is expected to reach India by 2022.
  • Features the latest iteration of Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, among other sporty design elements.
  • Likely to be offered with various seating layouts.

The 2021 Kia Carnival MPV has finally been teased via a sketch and boy, we are already in love with it. Slated for a global reveal later this year, the 2021 Kia Carnival features a new design language and is likely to be more practical and luxurious than the existing Carnival.

In its new iteration, the Kia Carnival trades in its elegant design language for a sportier and aggressive one. The upright nose with the latest iteration of the ‘Tiger Nose’ grille makes it look more SUV than MPV. Then there’s the headlamps, which are sleeker and features snazzy detailing. Moving on to the profile, a shoulder line runs through the side while the flared wheel arches and large alloy wheels give it a beefy appearance. It’s also likely to retain the electric sliding rear door, an USP of the current-generation model.

Kia Motors is yet to reveal the interior of the upcoming Carnival. That said, we expect it to feature the latest design language found in recent global models like the Seltos and Telluride. The Carnival is also known for its practical quotient and we expect it to be offered with various seating options.

Naturally, being a Kia, we expect the upcoming Carnival to come loaded with features. Expected ones include the latest iteration of Kia’s connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate control and a premium sound system.

The engine specifications of the upcoming MPV are yet to be unwrapped. That said, it’s likely to feature both diesel and petrol powertrains. Currently, the India-spec Kia Carnival comes with a 200PS 2.2-litre diesel engine that comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2021 Kia Carnival is expected to reach India by 2022 and is likely to be priced at a premium over the current model which starts from Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Carnival currently doesn’t have any direct rivals save for the Toyota Innova Crysta.
