Back in December 2019, Jaguar gave the F-Type sports car a mid-life update and unveiled it in international markets. Now, the updated sports car has finally made it to Indian shores. It is offered with three engine options in coupe and convertible body styles and four trims: Standard, R-Dynamic, First Edition and R. It is priced from Rs 95.12 lakh to Rs 2.41 crore (ex-showroom India).

While the overall silhouette of the updated F-Type remains the same, it features extensive cosmetic changes. This includes a completely revamped front end with new horizontal positioned LED headlights, revised tail lamps, and a new diffuser design. The First Edition variant gets some special touches in the form of bespoke 20-inch diamond turned alloy wheels, special treadplates, and an exclusive dark satin grey exterior body shade.

Highlights inside are new 12.3-inch interactive driver display, Meridian audio, an updated 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 12-way electrically adjustable front seats. The interior upholstery is also available in a host of different materials.

The main talking point of the Jaguar F-Type facelift is what’s under the hood. It comes in three petrol engine variants: P300, P450 and P575. The P300 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol that produces 300PS and 400Nm. The P450 is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 mill that produces 450PS/580Nm. The P575 utilises the same 5.0-litre supercharged V8 mill, but produces 575PS/700Nm, making it the most powerful variant in the F-Type’s lineup. All three engines are paired to a Quickshift 8-speed automatic transmission. The P300 and P450 variants get rear-wheel drive, whereas the P575 exclusively gets an all-wheel drivetrain.

Going into performance, the P300 goes from 0-100kmph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph. The P450 goes more than a second quicker at 4.6 seconds and reaches 285kmph. The most powerful P575 shaves off nearly a second at 3.7 seconds and a top speed hitting 300kmph. Other performance bits include an uprated chassis with new springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, and rear knuckles.

The Jaguar F-Type facelift not only provides a comprehensive upgrade over its predecessor, but also comes with a load of optional equipment for variant personalisation. It takes on the likes of the Mercedes Benz AMG GT and the Ford Mustang in India.
