The new Ford Mustang has been unveiled at the 2022 Detroit Motor Show. The seventh-generation (S650) sports car features a more angular front-end design with tri-element LED headlights and a new front grille design. It has a sleeker bodywork with a design that’s inspired by the original 1960s model.
The new Mustang also has a redesigned interior with a new curved display panel that houses the 12.4-inch driver’s instrumentation and 13.2-inch infotainment screens. It gets a row of buttons below the centre air vents to operate select functions in the car, but the AC controls have been moved to the screen.
The new Mustang will get the latest generation of Ford’s stalwart 2.3-litre EcoBoost and 5-litre V8 petrol engines. In addition, it’ll get a slew of track-focused features with the Performance Pack, including an upper strut brace, Brembo brakes, sports seats and an active exhaust system.
The new Ford Mustang will go into production in mid-2023. It is expected to arrive in India sometime in 2024.
