All the dope on Honda’s latest range-topping Forza 750 maxi-scooter

Here in India, we’re yearning for the mighty Honda Forza 350, and there’s a good chance we might even get it sometime soon. But over in Europe, they’ve already got their hands on the even meaner Forza 750. The monstrous maxi-scooter was unveiled last week and here’s everything you need to know about it:

More Powerful Than The Interceptor 650!

Powering this beast is the 745cc liquid-cooled SOHC parallel-twin from the X-ADV 750, which in the Forza produces 58.6PS and 69Nm while meeting Euro 5 norms. Yep, you read that right. It’s more powerful than the Interceptor 650 and actually makes even more torque than the CBR650R!

Feature Frenzy

To help harness all that firepower, Honda has given the Forza 750 traction control, engine braking control, ABS and 4 riding modes: Standard, Sport, Rain and User. To conveniently control all these functions, there is a 5-inch colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and it even gets the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system also seen on the H’ness CB350. Other features include keyless operation, LED lighting and USB charging.

Unlike most scooters which use CVTs to send their power to the rear wheel, the Forza 750 actually gets a DCT (dual clutch transmission). Confused? It’s a semi-automatic system, just like on Honda’s bigger models like the Africa Twin and Gold Wing, so you can let the scooter do the shifting for you, or take over control using buttons on the left handlebar.

Underpinnings

It may be a scooter, but the Forza’s underpinnings can put many motorcycles to shame. Everything is held together by a tubular diamond frame suspended on a pretty beefy and premium-looking 41mm golden upside-down fork, and linked monoshock. It even gets a neat aluminium swingarm, twin 310mm brake discs up front, and a 17-inch/15-inch alloy wheel combo. Of course, the end result is that this beast tips the scales at a pretty hefty 235kg.

The Future

While there hasn’t been a price announcement yet, expectations are in the €10000 ballpark, which translates to Rs 8.69 lakh. This big, burly price tag should answer your question about whether the Forza 750 will ever come to India. If you’re still unclear, there’s very little chance that this scooter will be offered here anytime in the near future.
