Italjet Dragster 700

Price: The Dragster 700 is expected to cost around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). This would make it one of the most expensive scooters in India. But then with the super-unique looks, we don’t think prospective buyers will be complaining.

Design: The visual philosophy of the Dragster 700 revolves around raw mechanical exposure, ensuring structural elements are fully visible. The exposed tubular steel trellis frame, sculpted bodywork with integrated aerodynamic winglets, and sharp, predator-like dual LED headlights - are all meant to be looked at in awe. An upswept, track-style tail section highlights the twin-exhaust setup, while the central trellis tunnel houses the exposed engine block and hydraulic clutch linkage. It is offered in two distinct factory colourways: Black/Yellow and Red/White.

Features: The Dragster 700 is equipped with a TFT instrumentation cluster. On the safety and stability front, the machine comes with a standard Traction Control alongside a dual-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Lighting is entirely LED-based. For an additional cost, you can avail the heated-grips and an Anti-Theft Alert System for your Dragster 700.

Engine: At the heart of the Dragster 700 is a liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder powerplant built for uncompromising performance. Displacing 698 cc it produces 67.98PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 70 Nm of maximum torque at 6,000 rpm. The scooter delivers a claimed mileage of 21.73kmpl. Shifting away from scooter-standard continuously variable transmissions (CVT), the Dragster 700 incorporates a 6-speed manual gearbox paired with hydraulically actuated clutch.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The underpinnings of the Dragster 700 utilizes a tubular steel trellis frame paired with fully adjustable (USD) Marzocchi front fork. The rear end is handled by a Marzocchi monoshock integrated with Italjet’s proprietary adjustability ISAS (Italjet Stiffness Adjustment System). Braking is by Brembo, comprising twin 270 mm front discs with Brembo calipers and a single 260 mm rear disc, both governed by ABS. It rolls on 15-inch alloy wheels shod in Pirelli radial tyres—120/70 ZR15 at the front and a wide 160/60 ZR15 at the rear. Key dimensions include an 815 mm seat height, a 16-litre fuel tank, and a wet weight (excluding fuel, but with fluids) of 190 kg.

Rivals: The Dragster 700 will be the only one of its kind in India and therefore, there are no natural rivals as such.
