BMW Motorrad Sets Up Shop In Chennai and Kochi

BMW Motorrad has announced the appointment of KUN Motorrad as its official dealer partner in Chennai and EVM Autokraft in Kochi. That makes Chennai the sixth and Kochi the seventh city to have a BMW Motorrad dealership after Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi and Ahmedabad. Shivpada Ray, head of BMW Motorrad in India, is currently working on growing the German bikemaker’s dealership network in India even further.

It hasn't been long since BMW Motorrad set up shop in India. In April it set up its first shops in Pune and Mumbai. Before this the bikes from the Bavarian motorcycle maker were imported on demand and sold through private importers, which made them more expensive than the competition. Then there also was an issue with the aftersales services due to it. Now, BMW Motorrad’s official dealerships are helping prospective and existing customers by not just selling the motorcycles but also taking care of the spare parts aspect. The official dealerships will also look after the servicing of the bikes and customers’ pre- and post-sales needs and demands.

Different segments of BMW Motorrad bikes are available at these dealerships like Sports, Tour, Roadster, Heritage and Adventure. These dealerships will display the BMW S 1000 RR, BMW R 1200 RS, BMW R 1200 RT, BMW K 1600 GTL, BMW R 1200 R, BMW S 1000 R, BMW R NineT, BMW R NineT Scrambler, BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, BMW R 1200 GS, and the BMW S 1000 XR - all completely built-up units (CBUs). So yes, they won’t be as cheap as they would get if they were assembled here but the prices are still pretty competitive in comparison to their rivals. BMW Motorrad will also unveils its latest new K 1600 B Bagger and the brand-new 2017 BMW R NineT Racer at India Bike Week 2017.

The new KUN showroom in Chennai is located in RR Complex, Anna Salai. KUN Exclusive, however, isn't new to BMW -- the group has been a dealer partner for BMW since 2008. It represents BMW in Chennai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. KUN is also a dealer partner for MINI cars in Chennai and Coimbatore.
Meanwhile in Kerela, the new dealership is located at Angel Plaza, NH47, South Kalamassery in Kochi and will be looked after by dealer prinicipal Sabu Johny.
