As if the Land Rover Range Rover Sport wasn’t enough, the carmaker has unleashed the 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR in India at Rs 2.19 crore (ex-showroom). Not only is it the flagship variant of the Range Rover Sport, but also the fastest and most hardcore Range Rover in the lineup!

So what makes it the most brutal Range Rover ever? Well, it's none other than the 5-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that delivers a whopping 575PS of grunt and 700Nm of twist. Paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission that distributes power to all four wheels, the SVR can go from 0-100kmph in a blisteringly quick 4.5 seconds and top out at 283kmph.

Beefy V8 aside, the SVR has also gotten bespoke upgrades to the chassis to make it better around the corners while also retaining its off-road prowess. Even the dampers have been tweaked for better mid-corner grip, body control, and turn-in.

The Range Rover Sport SVR not only provides brutal performance but also looks the part with a distinct design over the standard model. It features a more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes to provide better cooling to the performance brake setup. It also gets body-coloured accents at the rear, with SVR badging to help identify the range-topping SUV.

On the inside, the SVR gets lightweight performance seats finished in perforated Windsor leather. Of course, in classic Land Rover fashion, you get several creature comforts, such as configurable ambient lighting, 10-inch Touch Pro Duo infotainment screens with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, configurable ambient lighting, heated front and rear seats, and a 19-speaker Meridian Surround sound system.

The range-topping Range Rover Sport SVR comes at a pretty hefty premium of Rs 1.17 crore over the most expensive petrol HSE variant (Rs 1.02 crore) and Rs 35 lakh over the top-spec Autobiography Dynamic diesel trim (Rs 1.84 crore). It goes up against the likes of the Audi RSQ8, Porsche Cayenne, and the BMW X5M.
