Kia Motors has revealed the exterior images of the 2021 Carnival ahead of its debut later this year. The 2021 Kia Carnival is longer and wider than the model it replaces and also has a more SUV-esque air to it.
The 2021 Kia Carnival’s design does make a positive first impression. The upright nose houses Kia's latest iteration of the ‘Tiger Nose’ grille and the new LED headlamps feature an unique split design with snazzy LED DRLs. In profile, the raked A-pillar and flared wheel arches that are nicely filled by the dual-tone alloy wheels give the Carnival a muscular look. There’s even a sharp character line that runs through the profile. Moving on to the rear, the Carnival now features connected LED tail lamps. Overall, the Carnival’s design looks more SUV and we like it.
Kia is yet to reveal the interiors of the Carnival. However, based on spy shots, we can say that it’ll feature a brand new design with a twin-screen setup a la Mercedes-Benz cars. And just like the existing model, the next-gen Carnival is likely to be offered with various seating configurations ranging from 6 to 11 seats.
Naturally, the 2021 Kia Carnival is expected to come loaded with features like sliding electric rear doors, the latest iteration of UVO connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats and ambient lighting. On the safety front, expect it to feature multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors and electronic stability control.
Kia is yet to reveal powertrain options for the 2021 Carnival. That said, we expect it to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. Currently, the India-spec Carnival comes with a 200PS 2.2-litre diesel engine that comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Read our first drive review right here.
The 2021 Kia Carnival is expected to reach India in 2022. Expect it to be priced at a premium over the current model which starts from Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the Carnival's only rival in the country is the more affordable Toyota Innova Crysta.
