2020 Octavia Comes With A Premium And Luxurious Interior

Our first glimpse of the 2020 Skoda Octavia was slated to be upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. But just ahead of its official unveiling, the interior of the production-spec model has been leaked in a set of images.

Going by the images, the dashboard of the 2020 Octavia is more premium than before. A sleeker 2-spoke steering wheel with gloss black inserts and leather wrap takes centre stage. Behind it are what appear to be the digital dials from the current model. Then there’s a floating touchscreen infotainment system that is mounted high up on the dash. Beneath them are the AC vents and aircraft style toggle switches for the hazards, ESP and various functions. The spy shots also reveal that the 2020 Octavia will come with a dual-tone dash with the upper half getting a leather finish.

Based on previous spy shots, the 2020 Octavia comes with revamped looks. It trades its quad-LED headlamps for sleeker single-piece units. The trademark Skoda butterfly grille has also grown in size and beneath them are sleek air dams with LED fog lamps. In profile, the 2020 Octavia remains almost the same while at the back, the upcoming model comes with split LED tail lamps.

The 2020 Octavia is expected to come with a plethora of engine options in the international market. For India, though, we expect Skoda to offer the upcoming model with a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre TDI diesel while the petrol variant could be offered with a 1.5-litre TSI engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Expect Skoda to offer DSG and manual transmission options on both variants. Apart from that, we also expect to receive the bonkers Octavia RS as well.

The 2020 Octavia is slated to go on sale globally including India in 2020. Expect it to command a premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 16 lakh to 26 lakh (ex-showroom pan India). When launched, the 2020 Octavia will rival the Hyundai Elantra, the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic.
