The sedan comes with three engine and four gearbox options

Hyundai has silently revealed prices for the 2020 Verna. It starts from Rs 9.30 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 15 lakh. The sedan gets a breath of fresh air, new BS6 powertrain options and a host of extra features. All the details you are searching for are right here. Meanwhile, here’s how it looks in detailed images:

The biggest change is to the front which now features a huge grille that is clad in chrome for all variants except the 1.0-litre Turbo. The headlamps are also new while the bumper also sees major revamp. The side profile remains relatively unchanged. There are five variants on offer: S, S+, SX, SX(O), SX(O) Turbo.

This is the Turbo variant with the blacked-out front grill. It gets an all-black cabin with red highlights, ‘Turbo’ badging and a different rear bumper design with twin exhaust tips. Under the hood is the 1.0-litre T-GDI mill from the Venue, producing 120PS and 172Nm of twist coupled to a 7-speed DCT!

The rear end sees only minimal changes in the form of a new bumper design and slightly tweaked taillamps.

The all-black cabin from the Turbo variant with red highlights looks sporty. Some visible highlights are digital instrument cluster, 8.0-inch touchscreen system, along with steering-mounted controls and automatic climate control.

The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel variants come with this beige cabin which looks upmarket. Also don’t miss the electric sunroof.  The 1.5-litre petrol engine pushes out 115PS and 114Nm of twist, and the 1.5-liitre diesel is good enough for 115PS and 250Nm of torque. The diesel comes mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic while the petrol gets a 6-speed manual and a CVT.

The Verna is equipped with some nifty features like this smart boot which automatically opens when it detects your presence, BlueLink connected features, paddle shifters and rear disc brakes.

Hyundai seems to have come prepared for the fight against the new 2020 Honda City and the existing rivals such as the Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris. The Verna steals the show when it comes to features and engine-gearbox options, which it also shares with the more premium 2020 Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.
