A SUV that can propel from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds!

The wait is finally over! Audi India has officially launched the 2025 Audi RS Q8 Performance, its most powerful SUV to date. With an upgraded powertrain, enhanced aerodynamics, and a sharper design, the RS Q8 Performance is here to take on the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX. Priced at Rs 2.49 crore (ex-showroom, India), this high-performance SUV is expected to offer high-octane driving experience while maintaining the comfort and luxury Audi is known for.

Exterior Design – Meaner, Bolder, and Sportier

The 2025 RS Q8 Performance takes an already aggressive design and dials it up a notch. The front fascia is dominated by an RS-specific honeycomb grille with a blacked-out finish, flanked by redesigned Matrix LED headlamps with laser light technology that enhances nighttime visibility. The larger air intakes, a more sculpted bumper, and an aerodynamically enhanced splitter contribute to a sharper and meaner look.

From the side, the SUV flaunts a coupe-like roofline, flared wheel arches, and massive 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, with an option to upgrade to 23-inch forged wheels.

The blacked-out ORVMs and sporty side skirts further add to its aggressive stance. At the rear, it gets oval-shaped dual exhaust tips, a sporty diffuser, and a sleek LED light bar that runs across the width of the SUV.

The optional carbon fibre package adds an extra dose of sportiness by replacing the exterior trim elements with lightweight carbon fibre.

Interiors – A Perfect Blend of Luxury and Sportiness

Step inside the RS Q8 Performance, and you’ll be greeted by an interior that seamlessly blends luxury with race-inspired elements. The SUV features RS-specific sports seats wrapped in premium Valcona leather, which offers excellent support for spirited driving.

The contrast stitching and embossed RS logos on the seats and dashboard add to its exclusivity. The cabin also gets an Alcantara-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, carbon fibre inlays, and red accents, reinforcing the RS pedigree.

Audi’s Virtual Cockpit Plus comes standard, offering an RS-specific digital instrument cluster that displays performance-oriented information such as lap timers, G-force meters, and boost pressure gauges.

The dual touchscreen MMI infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Audi Connect services, ensuring seamless connectivity. Other highlights include a Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System for an immersive audio experience, a Heads-Up Display (HUD) with RS-specific information, four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and an ambient lighting package that elevates the overall cabin experience. Wireless charging and multiple USB-C ports ensure that all passengers stay connected on the go.

Powertrain and Performance – Pure RS DNA

At the heart of the RS Q8 Performance lies a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which now produces a staggering 640 PS and 850 Nm of peak torque. These figures make it the most powerful Audi RS SUV ever built. With this immense power, the RS Q8 Performance can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds, making it 0.2 seconds quicker than its predecessor. The standard top speed is 250 kmph, but with the optional RS Dynamic Package Plus, it can be increased to a mind-boggling 305 kmph, making it one of the fastest SUVs in the world.

Power is sent to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox. To ensure superior handling, the SUV is equipped with RS Adaptive Air Suspension, which dynamically adjusts the ride height for better aerodynamics and stability. The RS sports differential further enhances agility by distributing power between the rear wheels for improved cornering dynamics, ensuring that despite its size, the RS Q8 Performance handles like a true sports car.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Audi has packed the RS Q8 Performance with a host of safety and driver assistance features. The SUV comes equipped with adaptive cruise control with stop & go, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera with parking assist, making it easier to manoeuvre despite its size.

Additional features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and an Audi Pre-Sense collision avoidance system, which actively helps prevent accidents.

Price and Rivals

The 2025 Audi RS Q8 Performance is priced at Rs 2.49 crore (ex-showroom, India), positioning it as one of the most expensive SUVs in Audi’s lineup. It competes with high-performance luxury SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus Performante, Aston Martin DBX 707, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, and Maserati Levante Trofeo, offering a unique combination of performance, luxury, and everyday usability.

Bookings and Availability

Bookings for the RS Q8 Performance opened last month through the ‘myAudi connect’ app, as well as via Audi dealerships with a booking amount set at Rs 5 lakh. But, as of today, the 2025 RS Q8 is sold out for the next 6 months!

Deliveries are expected to commence in the coming months, and given its exclusivity, demand is expected to increase.

Verdict: A Powerhouse in a Luxury Suit

With its brutal performance, aggressive styling, and tech-laden luxurious cabin, the 2025 Audi RS Q8 Performance is a serious contender in the high-performance luxury SUV segment. Whether you want blistering speed on an open highway or a commanding presence in city traffic, this SUV offers the best of both worlds.
