Upcoming Kia Carnival teased.
Launch on October 3, alongside EV9 electric SUV.
Teaser confirms dual sunroof and dual digital screens.
Powertrain details still unknown.
Likely to be priced from around the Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
The buzz around the upcoming festive season has already started to kick in and so has the concurrent seasonal slew of car launches that come with it. Many cars have already been launched of late, with plenty still remaining, and one of those upcoming cars will be the facelifted version of the new-gen Kia Carnival. It’s slated for a launch on October 3, and the carmaker has just dropped a teaser for it, showcasing a couple of features in the process. So here’s the video for you, and let’s see what we can decipher from it:
The teaser gives us a dekko at the rear of the Kia Carnival, while also giving a very quick glimpse of its infotainment and instrument cluster. Just like the international-spec model, it seems like the India-bound Carnival will offer dual integrated screens (likely 12.3-inch) on the dashboard. The only other feature detail confirmed is the dual sunroof, which is also similar to the global model.
The short teaser ends with the rear of the Carnival, which boasts a sleek connected LED taillight and some contrasting black and silver cladding on its bumper. The teaser doesn’t reveal any other notable detail about the upcoming MPV.
After skipping the new-gen Carnival for India, Kia will be bringing its facelifted avatar to our shores. Given that it is expected to be a fully imported model, we don’t expect any shortage of comfort and safety features. The list could include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, multiple zones of climate control, powered front seats, heads-up display and ventilated seats as well.

While there’s no confirmation on this front just yet, we also expect Kia to offer multiple seating layouts like it used to before. You can check out more details about it in this story.

Not much is known about the powertrains as well, but the India-spec model is expected to come with a sole 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 200 PS. Internationally, the Kia Carnival gets a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, which is likely to be given a miss for India.
Prices for the new Kia Carnival could start from around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

It’ll pose as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross.
