The past seven days continued the busy momentum in the Indian automotive industry with a slew of launches that included cars getting a generational update or a midlife refresh. There were also a couple of unveils abroad and back home, with more snippets about upcoming models surfacing. Here’s all about it:

 

Facelifted MG ZS EV Launched

 

MG Motor India has given the ZS electric SUV a midlife refresh -- cleaner styling, an Astor-inspired cabin, partial ADAS, and an improved electric powertrain and battery pack for increased range. 2022 Lexus NX Launched 

The Lexus NX received its first-ever generation update in India, and the new-gen model's design is bordering on the evolutionary now. The cabin has been overhauled, and the compact luxury SUV is now a feature-laden offering with a more potent 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine.

After the BMW X3 received a midlife refresh, it was time for the X4 SUV-coupe to get it in India. Interestingly, it arrived in the Black Shadow Edition, which features blacked-out design elements both on the outside and inside over and above the sporty styling and the X3-like cabin. Importantly, the facelifted BMW X4 has lost one engine option.

 

Virtus Unveil 

The Volkswagen Group's India 2.0 program is finally complete with the unveiling of the Volkswagen Virtus sedan. It'll be the successor to the Vento and be VW's second MQB-A0-IN offering. While it is identical in dimensions to the Skoda Slavia and also shares with it its 1-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, the Virtus wears the sixth-gen Polo-like clothes and gets a Taigun-like cabin.
