First batch of deliveries in November and December.
The Astor will be sold in four trims: Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp.
There’s another trim, Savvy, which is essentially Sharp + ADAS.
The MG Astor’s pre-bookings will begin on October 21, only nine days from the date of writing. You can pre-book the compact SUV online or at your nearest MG dealership. The Astor’s introductory prices range from Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

During the launch event, the carmaker also confirmed that the first batch of deliveries is scheduled in November and December. There will only be 5,000 units in the first lot, the low number possibly due to the global semiconductor shortage.

The MG Astor comes in four trims: Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. Add the optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to the top-spec Sharp, and it becomes a new ‘Savvy’ trim.

Features in the compact SUV include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 7-inch digital drivers display, i-Smart connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, three steering wheel modes, and a one-of-its-kind personal AI assistant.

Passenger safety is covered by up to six airbags, ABS+EBD, ESP, traction control, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and hill descent control. The ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, and lane-keeping/departure assist.

The SUV has been provided with 110PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and 140PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former can be paired with 6-speed manual and 8-step CVT options, while the latter only gets a 6-speed automatic.

Please remember that the MG Astor’s introductory prices will only be valid for the first 5,000 units. The compact SUV rubs shoulders with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Renault Duster.
