MG Astor Blackstorm reintroduced with 2024 model year updates.
JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Snowstorm Edition at Rs 21.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The new edition is based on the one-below-top Sharp Pro variant and can be had with all three seating options. Also, the MG Astor Blackstorm Edition has been updated with 2024 model year updates.
Before we start talking about design changes, here’s a look at the variant-wise prices of the MG Hector Snowstorm Edition:

As you can see in the table above, the Hector Snowstorm commands a premium of up to Rs 32,000 depending on the powertrain option you pick.
For starters, the Hector Snowstorm’s primary hue is white and the roof and pillars are finished in black, giving it a nice contrasting look. MG has also added stealth as an ingredient to this recipe by adding dark chrome elements in the grille, bumpers and badging. To gel along with the black and white theme, the 18-inch alloys are finished in black if you look behind it. And lastly, the finishing touches – streaks of red can be found around the headlight surrounds and rear bumper, while the brake callipers are finished in… you guessed it… red.
A couple of updates have been made to the cabin as well. The main change is the presence of an all-black dashboard with black seat covers. In addition to that, MG has updated the trim inserts with a gunmetal grey insert to complement the overall theme. Lastly, Snowstorm has been embossed on the front seat headrests to denote which variant you’re driving.
Since the Snowstorm Edition is not based on the top-end model you do miss out on ADAS. But apart from that, you get all the niceties such as a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats with powered adjustment, a panoramic sunroof and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system.

As for engine options, the MG Hector Snowstorm comes with 170 PS 2-litre diesel and 143 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine options. The diesel is offered with the six-speed manual while petrol gets the CVT.
The MG Astor Blackstorm Edition has been re-introduced for the 2024 model year. Like before, it’s offered only with the naturally aspirated petrol engine and is based on the mid-spec Select variant. Here’s a look at the variant-wise prices:

Updates made to the Astor Blackstorm are similar to what we have seen before. That means you continue to get a black body colour that’s further complemented by blacked-out badges, design elements and alloys. The red inserts across the body give it a dash of contrast and add to the sporty nature.
Even on the inside, you get an all-black dashboard with red inserts around the AC vents. The headrests on the seat get ‘Blackstorm’ embossing and plentiful red stitching. MG has also given this model a JBL sound system to satisfy people who love listening to music.
Other features onboard this variant include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and a wireless phone charger.
The Astor Blackstorm is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine putting out 110 PS and 144 Nm. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT.
The MG Hector locks horns with the Tata Harrier / Safari, Hyundai Creta / Alcazar, Mahindra Scorpio N / XUV700. The MG Astor, on the other hand, goes up against the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, VW Taigun, Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt.
