The Mahindra Global Pik Up concept’s design, based on the Scorpio N SUV, has been patented by Mahindra in India. The Scorpio N Pik Up concept was initially revealed during Mahindra's global event in South Africa in August 2023 alongside the Thar.e. Let's take a closer look at the patent image to gain further insights into what it reveals before its official launch.

The surfaced patent image reveals a similar rugged design to what was unveiled earlier. There are clear similarities with the Scorpio N in a few areas, such as the headlight shape, but you can also see the new grille design, a large skid plate and a snorkel for enhanced water wading capability.

Additionally, there's a roof rack for extra storage with a horizontal LED light bar. The model sits higher up compared to the standard SUV and features ten-spoke alloy wheels with off-road-spec tyres, along with massive wheel arches. Twin side steps are also present, not just for their aesthetic appeal but to facilitate easier ingress and egress.

That said, expect certain of the design elements to be eliminated in the final production model such as the roof box, snorkel, LED light bar and even the concept-like side steps. It could also have a lower ride height and smaller alloys with all-terrain tyres.

The interior of the Scorpio N Pik Up is similar to the Scorpio N SUV, but features an all-black theme with red stitching. It comes equipped with features such as connected car technology, a branded audio system, Level-2 ADAS, and multiple airbags.

While exact details on the powertrain have not been revealed yet, Mahindra did mention that the pickup truck will be equipped with a newer version of the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The powertrain is available with both manual and automatic transmission choices and is also equipped with four-wheel-drive.

When launched, the Scorpio N Pik Up will first be available in international markets, including ASEAN countries, Australia, South Africa, and South and Central America, before coming here. It may be launched in India at an expected price of around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom),  will be an ideal rival to the Isuzu V-cross, and undercut the Toyota Hilux.
