EXCLUSIVE: 2024 KTM 390 Adventure Spied Testing Again

A new day has started and in the meanwhile, another bike has been spotted testing on Indian roads. This time around, it was the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure’s turn to pose for the camera and we managed to click some exclusive photographs of the upcoming Austrian ADV. 

The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure gets a vertically stacked dual LED projector headlight setup accompanied by a taller windscreen and a beak-like fender underneath. There is a cutout in the windscreen and it has been designed for better airflow and keeping the rider cool. This is quite essential in India during the very hot summer days. The LED indicators look different from that of the current model and the ADV gets an inverted fork with longer wheel travel (expected to be adjustable). From these spy shots, it looks the bike gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup. 

The 2024 390 Adventure gets an all-new trellis frame, similar to that of the new KTM 390 Duke. The sub-frame, swingarm and the single-piece seat will be different from the streetfighter. The tail section is sleeker and the rear suspension setup consists of a monoshock (likely to be adjustable as well). Interestingly, the ADV gets an underbelly exhaust. Whether that’ll affect its ground clearance remains to be seen. The instrument console will be the same TFT unit seen on the 390 Duke but on the upcoming 390 Adventure, it is mounted high above the handlebar like a rally bike. Powering the ADV will be the same 398.63cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found in the 390 Duke, where it produces 46PS at 8500rpm and 39Nm at 6500rpm. The engine tuning is expected to be different to suit the ADV’s character better. 

The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure is expected to be priced around the Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. It is likely to be showcased at EICMA 2024 (November 5 - 10, 2024) first, with the launch expected to happen by the end of 2024 or early 2025. It will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the upcoming Hero Xpulse 400.
