So what it’s late to the party! BMW India will kick start its electric journey in style with the iX that’s on course for launch on December 13. At an expected price of around Rs 1 crore, the flagship SUV will square off against the Audi e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQC, and Jaguar I-Pace.

The iX will mark several firsts for BMW India. As mentioned above, it will be the carmaker’s first all-electric offering in the country. Overseas, it is offered in two broad trims: xDrive 40 and xDrive 50, and both are four-wheel drives.
Take a look at the detailed specifications:

Secondly, this will be the first Bimmer in India to feature the latest iDrive 8 infotainment system. It’s basically two gigantic screens (similar in layout to a Mercedes) attached to the dashboard, lending the cabin a clean look. Feature highlights include Artificial Intelligence (AI), personalisation, and connected car tech. The swivel wheel has also been retained for easier operation of the system.

If BMW India brings the e-SUV without deleting anything, it could feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), another first for the carmaker in the country. The suite should include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot assist, auto pilot, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking.

We’ll bring more details as we inch closer to December 13. So keep following our website and YouTube channel.
