BYD will be making its Auto Expo debut at the upcoming edition of the motor show. The Chinese carmaker, unlike previous debutant Haval, will likely be only displaying its existing range of vehicles. So you can expect them to showcase the E6 MPV, Atto 3 SUV, and its Blade battery pack technology that powers both these vehicles. But we do wish to see something more from the Chinese carmaker and here’s our wishlist:

Until now, BYD, in India, has been offering only their utility electric vehicles: the E6 and Atto 3. Internationally, though, the carmaker is offering some impressive looking sedans loaded to the brim with tech. One of them is the Han, which is available in the European market. It has almost all the features seen in the Atto 3. Also, the Han has some impressive specs: a 517PS motor, 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds, and a WLTP-claimed range of 521km.

BYD’s European lineup is stellar, with impressive and upmarket products. And one more sedan that impresses with its cool looks and premium cabin is the Seal sedan. Okay, it might look like an Ioniq 6 ripoff on the outside. But you still get an upmarket-looking car with impressive specs on the table. We hope to see it at the Auto Expo and eventually in the Indian market as well.

BYD is already catering the three-row EV space in India with the E6 MPV. But we wish to see something premium from the carmaker with a similar attribute. Meet the Tang, not the powder-based drink we have in summers, but BYD’s upmarket SUV with three rows of seating. It, like the above two models, gets impressive on-paper specs, good looks, and all the features one would need. Perfect for the Indian market, we would say.
So these are three BYD cars we hope to see at the Auto Expo 2023. The carmaker is off to a brilliant start with the Atto 3 in India, which has racked up over 1,500 bookings. And we hope BYD capitalises on Auto Expo to showcase its technology and some swanky-looking cars as well.
