Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Nexon

Q. Is Nexon Revotronn XZ Plus duel tone good to buy?
  • The XZ+ is the trim where you get all the bells and whistles that Tata has been touting. There are a lot of things to flaunt here, such as tambour door on the central console, DRLs, passive keyless entry, push-button start/stop, 16-inch alloys and more. Further, for a premium of around Rs 20,000, you get the dual-tone version, which really stands out compared to other models of the Nexon. The XZ+ trims do spike the desirability quotient manifold, but the asking price is slightly on the higher side. Overall, buy it if your budget allows as this trim offers one of the best packages in the sub-4m space. : By Zigwheels | 10 months ago

Q. How is Tata Nexon AMT performing on high range roads, like where you have steep and hair pin curved roads
  • On national highways in Hills like road to Simla, in normal traffic Nexon with AMT is fine. If there is bumper to bumper traffic with frequent stops, you will have two problems:1. When starting from car in halt position, moment you release brake, the car will roll back, even if it was in drive mode even on very mild slopes. Hence you must Apply hand brake, lift the foot of the brake paddle, wait for 2 to 3 seconds and then release hand brake. If you do not wait for 3 Seconds, the car will roll back as this is the time the Clutch takes to engage, after the foot of the brake paddle is released.2. Above was the case of driving on mild slopes. In case the slope is steep, (more than 10 degree), even after taking precaution or procedure suggested in 1 above, after lifting foot of brake paddle and waiting for 3 Seconds, you will be required to pick up accelerator, before releasing hand brake, otherwise the car will roll back.3. And after the hand brake is released, the car suddenly jumps forward (depending upon the race given to prevent it from rolling back and if suddenly the slope ahead of car reduces) and if the gap between your car and next is less, you are bound to hit or kiss or miss the car ahead.4. Similarly it is not easy to park the car on small places by side of hill roads (difficult to find parking in India in Hills) because of un-predictable behaviour of AMT.Please do not be under the impression that you can overcome above by using Manual Mode of AMT as releasing of clutch, both in Manual and Automatic Mode, is not in your hands. Actually it is same in both automatic and manual mode.5. In case you are going to buy Nexon with AMT or have one - a piece of advice, MAKE A HABIT TO BRING THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER TO "N" (NEUTRAL) POSITION WHENEVER WAITING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. IF YOU APPLY HAND BRAKE WITH LEVER IN "D" OR "R" POSITION AND FOOT OF THE BRAKE PADDLE, YOU WILL RUIN THE CLUTCH. (within 5 minutes you may smell burning of clutch plates – This is because of CREEP + CLUTCH FULLY ENGAGED and CAR at REST.For Hills, Manual Car is better than AMT (of Tata Nexon or Other Manufacturers having same operation logic). It is possible to improve software and hardware of Nexon AMT to overcome above problems. I think that Tata’s Designers who designed present AMT were not experienced to visualize the problems.......................I do Hope my comments above are of use to you in taking a decision.RegardsRamesh : By Ramesh | 9 months ago
  • Nexon XZA petrol is very poor in this matter. I have experienced it in steep height clutch plates got damaged 25% and giving a sign on meter. I stopped the vehicle as I was not going ahead, stopped for an hour and came back down the hills. : By Rajan | 3 days ago
  • XZA+ has the problem on hills it smell from the clutch plates on hills. Tata management should take care of it. : By Rajan | 2 months ago
Q. Is Nexon 4 seater or 5 seater and is it comfortable for 3 sitting at back?
  • 4 people very comfortable, 3 average size persons can sit comfortably in the back seat, but for 3 bulky people, it is not so comfort but enough leg space is there. : By Ravin | 11 months ago
  • 5 seater very comfortable for 3 person sitting at the back. : By Lima | 11 months ago
  • It's 5 seater and comfortable for three sitting at back : By Vineet | 11 months ago
Q. Plz Suggest about Tata Nexon XE petrol , I should Buy It or not.
  • Both petrol and Diesel r suggestible as per yr budget but tyres should not be BRIDGESTONE. My 6m old Nexon xz+ BRIDGESTONE 2 tyres r busted n company refused to accept. I paid forcefully. : By Rajashekar | 1 year ago
  • If you like comfortable driving, and give more importance to safety and in your area Tata service is good. go for it. : By Ravin | 1 year ago
  • The car is overall really good apart from a very few negligible niggles... I'd suggest go for it : By Manas | 1 year ago
Q. Is the automatic in Tata Nexon smooth?
  • I used normal automatic toyota camry for over 10 years, In AMT I do not get that type of smoothness. I think all AMT cars performance of the technology is same. Now (2000 Plus KMs), I got adjusted to Nexon AMT and feel it is ok in terms of smoothness. : By Ravin | 10 months ago
  • As Deepak said, AMT is different from CVT or DSG. You have to get adjusted to that. It's not for people who are always in a hurry. It will take a while to get to 50kmph. Not in few seconds. : By Siby | 10 months ago
  • All amt cars have jerky feel, for smoother feel try for CVT and DSG Automatic cars. : By Deepak | 10 months ago
