Updated: 22 July 2026. The Mahindra XUV500 2024 is an upcoming SUV expected to launch in India at an estimated ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to get 2.2L diesel engine, a manual transmission. Once launched, it will rival the Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.

Mahindra’s chief designer Pratap Bose has given us a glimpse of a mystery SUV that could be the upcoming XUV500. The SUV will bear a completely different design from its predecessor, with flared, boxy wheel arches, upright A-pillar and a slightly sloping roofline.
The next-generation Mahindra XUV500 is expected to offer 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines from the XUV300, smaller units than the XUV700’s 2-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines.
It should get features such as a large touchscreen, premium sound system, electric sunroof and six airbags and probably ADAS as well.
The new XUV500 will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor.
